The First Child Ep. 4

The one week James had given Emily passed quickly. Each day he watched her, waiting to see if she would change her mind. But Emily held her ground. She fed the baby, cleaned the house, and went about her duties, but she never once mentioned the hospital. On the seventh day, James sat in the living room while Emily bathed the baby. When she came out, holding the child wrapped in a soft towel, James cleared his throat. “Emily,” he began quietly, “I gave you one week. That week has ended. Are you ready now to take this child to the hospital?” Emily did not answer immediately. She carried the baby to the bedroom, dressed him, and then returned to the sitting room. James was still waiting. “Emily, I am talking to you,” he said firmly. She sighed. “James, how many times will I say it? I am not going anywhere. Stop pressing me. I will not do any DNA test. I will not do any hospital test. You are the father of this child, and that is final.” James leaned forward, trying to remain calm. “If I a...

Pregnant Before Wedding Day Ep. 6

Dr. John was beginning to think about Lily’s behaviour. For weeks, Lily’s insistence on getting him to sleep with her before their wedding had puzzled him. He believed in waiting, but her desperation seemed far beyond simple affection. Something was not right. The more he thought about it, the more uneasy he became. “Why is she pushing so hard?” he asked himself quietly. That evening, as the sun sank behind the hospital, he decided he needed to find out the truth. He would no longer sit in the dark, wondering. He would act.

The next day, he went to Lily’s apartment. She opened the door reluctantly, her face cool and unreadable. John spoke gently, “Lily, I want us to make peace. I am sorry if I made you feel unwanted. Let us put this behind us.” She hesitated for a moment, then nodded slowly. “Alright, John. I’ll come to your house later tonight,” she replied. Her voice was calm, but he could see the flicker of satisfaction in her eyes. Inside, John’s mind was already turning over his plan. Tonight, he would have the answer he was looking for.

On his way home, John stopped at a quiet pharmacy. He walked in and purchased a pregnancy test kit. The pharmacist handed it to him in a small paper bag, not knowing the weight it carried in his heart. He also bought a transparent waterproof container, something that could hold liquid without spilling. Back at home, he placed the container carefully inside the restroom, positioned in such a way that it would catch any urine without the user noticing. His heart was worried, but he told himself this was the only way to be sure.

When Lily arrived later that evening, she was dressed in a soft floral gown, her hair falling gently over her shoulders. She greeted him warmly, and he returned the gesture, hiding the tension inside him. They had dinner together, speaking softly, with John making sure to keep the atmosphere warm and inviting. Afterward, they moved to the living room, and he took her hand. This time, he did not resist. He told himself it was necessary to carry out his plan. He would have to go against his personal values for one night.

They went into the bedroom, and Lily’s smile grew. This was the moment she had been waiting for. She gave herself completely, and for the first time, John allowed himself to cross the line he had kept for so long. He made love to her. In her heart, Lily felt triumphant. She believed she had finally secured her future. When it was over, she lay back with a satisfied sigh. Soon, she rose and walked into the bathroom, not knowing that every step she took was moving her closer to the truth John was seeking.

Inside the bathroom, Lily relieved herself, completely unaware of the small transparent leather beneath her. She washed her hands, adjusted her gown, and returned to the bedroom, feeling lighter than she had in weeks. She curled up on the bed beside John, her eyes beginning to close. “I’m happy tonight,” she whispered before drifting off to sleep. John watched her for a moment, his mind calm but focused. This was the time to finish what he had started.

Quietly, he rose from the bed and went into the bathroom. His eyes fell on the container, now holding the liquid he needed for the test. With careful hands, he lifted it and placed it on the counter. He opened the small paper bag from the pharmacy, took out the pregnancy test strip, and dipped it into the sample. The seconds felt like hours as he waited, watching the strip slowly change. His breath was steady, but his heart beat softly in his chest.

The faint pink lines began to appear, and then they grew clearer, sharper, undeniable. John’s eyes did not blink as he stared at the result. It was positive. Lily was pregnant. He felt a strange stillness settle over him, the kind that comes when a hidden truth finally steps into the light. All his suspicions were confirmed, yet the reality still hit him like a quiet blow. He stood there for a long moment, the strip in his hand, the cool bathroom air around him.

His thoughts turned quickly—how long had she known? Was this the reason behind all her sudden urgency? In his heart, he knew the answer already. She had been carrying this secret, and she had been determined to pin the pregnancy on him before he could find out. The heaviness in his chest was not anger, not yet. It was a deep and quiet disappointment, like a shadow that spread slowly through him. He placed the strip down on the sink and leaned against the wall in shock.

John returned to the bedroom, standing by the edge of the bed. Lily slept peacefully, unaware that the game had changed. He looked at her face, so calm, so certain that her plan had worked. In his mind, he said nothing. The truth was now in his hands, and with it came the choice of what to do next. But for this moment, in the stillness of the night, he simply stood there, knowing that nothing between them would ever be the same again.

The First Child Ep. 3

James woke up early on Monday morning. He had been thinking all night. Emily’s refusal to do a DNA test had left him restless. He could not focus at work, and every time he looked at the baby, the doubt grew stronger. By 9am, he drove to the hospital alone. He didn’t take the baby with him because he wanted to first ask some questions before deciding on the next step. When he arrived, he went to the reception and asked to speak with a doctor. A few minutes later, he was shown into a small office. The doctor, a middle-aged man with glasses, greeted him warmly. “Good morning, Mr. James. How can I help you today?” James sat down and leaned forward. “Doctor, I have an unusual question. Is it possible for two white parents to give birth to a black baby?” The doctor looked thoughtful. “It is possible, but it is very rare. In some cases, the child may have inherited certain genes from past generations. In other rare cases, it could be a medical condition affecting the skin.” James nodded slow...

Pregnant Before Wedding Day Ep. 4

Lily arrived at Dr. John’s house just before sunset. The streets were quiet, and the air was soft with the smell of the evening breeze. She carried a small bag in one hand and used the spare keys he had given her to unlock the door. Inside, the apartment felt warm and familiar. She walked to the kitchen without removing her shoes, already thinking of the meal she was about to prepare. It had to be perfect—his favorite food, made with care. She believed that tonight could change everything for her. She moved through the kitchen slowly, setting out the ingredients and humming softly. The sound of the knife against the cutting board filled the room. As she stirred the pot, steam curled into the air, carrying the rich smell of spices. She imagined the smile on Dr. John’s face when he walked in and saw her effort. The table was set neatly at the dining area, plates and glasses lined up as if they were expecting important guests. By the time she finished cooking, the apartment smelled like c...

The First Child Ep. 2

Emily is distraught. She was in her room with her baby. James’s words from the night before kept echoing in her head. "We must have a DNA test. I don’t want to raise another man’s child." Her husband had said. She had told herself over and over again that morning that she would not do it. No matter how much James insisted, she was not going to any hospital for a DNA test. She was tired, weak, and still recovering from childbirth. She also felt insulted that her own husband would accuse her of cheating. When James returned from work that evening, she was ready with her answer. “James,” she said as he entered the room, “I am not doing any DNA test. I am not going anywhere.” James stopped in the middle of the room. “What did you just say?” “You heard me. I am not following you to any hospital. I will not do it.” His eyes were fixed on her. “So you are hiding something. That explains it.” Emily frowned. “I am not hiding anything. I just will not subject myself to this insult.” Ja...
